One often sees love and hatred as opposite forces; I daresay that is not entirely the case.
They are like different dances, you see; In one way they're different, but in another they share.
Both require immense passion and emotion; Neither lack their vices, visible upon each face.
Whichever you need, pick one carefully; Blending the two brothers is only if you truly dare.
Hatred is seen as bad, but oftentimes, it has a good reason; Mindless hate is hated by all.
Self-hatred is sadly prevalent; There may have a reason, but it is hidden by misunderstanding.
Hatred can, in fact, produce beauty; Dark poetry can paint gorgeous imagery of a dreadful fall.
It takes a master to do that; Most just scorn hatred, for it doesn't do what they're demanding.
Love is often seen as sacred and pure; However, it can be twisted, much like hatred can be.
This sweet gift can be denied; More people than I'd like to recount have gone mad over this.
Through madness, one can oftentimes do the unthinkable; You'd be surprised what someone would do.
Sell out a friend, or maybe lie to another; Many would do more for the chance to receive a kiss.
The wiles of emotion can lead the heart stray; One must be guarded, in order to keep them away.
A stout and noble heart can stay free of too much hate, and too much love; Too much is quite bad.
Balance is key to many things, including this; The wicked try their best, but just keep them at bay.
If you strike that perfect step in your dance, your life will almost assuredly be forever glad.
