Ruinous Revenge

The prince of my dreams, young and strong, thanked me tonight with a tender kiss.

My heart leaped within my breast, and my cheeks grew hotter than Bjartasta's burning face.

Departing with a smile, he took with him my love, wrought from an innocent soul.

Try as I could, he became unapproachable; His former sincerity had gone, without a trace.



Sneaking a peek, I see him now caressing a maiden fair, covered by nothing but her strawberry hair.

A new feeling rises in my kind heart, but it's not something many would like to admit.

My face, not quite as fair, forms a vicious scowl; Heartbroken, I sulk away into the shadows.

I needed to dwell there long, to gain the courage... or the lack thereof... to be able to commit.



Crying bitter tears, I prayed to whomever would listen, my sorrow outweighing my senses.

A dark, tired voice answered me, offering me a chance of redeeming my shattered, angry heart.

Submitting to her wishes, I was transformed, with physique and mystical might enhanced.

Not a bad trade-off, I thought, for now within my soul, there was less remorse than a quart.



The kingdom was under siege, and not a soul could see from whence it had come.

His lover dying in his arms, the young prince swore a blood oath to a goddess most dark.

The once fiery passion in his orange eyes turned murderous, his heart against the world.

He proclaimed ruinous revenge upon those that took his love, his rage hungrier than a shark.
